ƵNSF EPSCoR improves scientific research capacity and broadens participation in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) in Ƶby engaging in multiyear, collaborative statewide research projects supported through National Science Foundation and the state of Alaska.

Interface of ChangeBuilding collaborations to assess harvested and  farmed marine species prioritized by Gulf of Ƶcommunities facing environmental  shifts 

2024 - 2029

"Interface of Change" asks how changes in Gulf of Ƶcoastal ecosystems affect marine species of cultural and economic importance, like kelp and salmon, and in turn the well-being of people living in Gulf of Ƶcommunities.

Out of the many compelling applications we received for the ƵEPSCoR professional development travel awards, we awarded travel funding to eight recipients.

One large building is most prominent; it has many windows, and the bottom of the building is stone-walled. Mounted upon the stone wall are the words, “Welcome to Cordova” with five large salmon around the words.

The ƵEPSCoR Interface of Change project is accepting applications for travel funding of up to $2,500 for domestic travel to present at a conference or attend a training this spring. Students, staff, or faculty from any Ƶinstitution of higher education are eligible to apply. Applications are open now - apply by 5 p.m. AKDT, April 18, 2025!

ƵEPSCoR is now accepting applications for Interface of Change seed awards to fund research, student research, education and broadening participation. The deadline to apply for all three seed award solicitations is 5 p.m. AKDT, May 30, 2025. An informational webinar on the application process will take place at 12 p.m. AKDT on April 22, 2025.
