939 ÐßÐßÊÓÆµhigh school students designated for $12,000 UA Scholars Award

High school seniors from nearly 250 schools across ÐßÐßÊÓÆµhave been identified as this year's class of University of ÐßÐßÊÓÆµ(UA) Scholars, qualifying each of them for a $12,000 scholarship to use at any location in the UA system. Students ranked within the top ten percent of their class are eligible for the award.

Call for proposals: Faculty Initiative Fund

The FIF is a $300,000 financial commitment by the University of ÐßÐßÊÓÆµto promote inter-university collaboration in program development, scholarly endeavors and student engagement with the goal of reducing the cost to degree and promoting internship opportunities for students. Proposals are due by November 7.

UA responds to UNAC Complaint and Files its Own

The University of ÐßÐßÊÓÆµadministration filed a response to the Unfair Labor Practice detailing the university's actions and good faith efforts to negotiate. The administration also filed its own complaint with the ÐßÐßÊÓÆµLabor Relations Agency alleging unlawful labor practices by UNAC to ensure the entire context of the negotiations process is before the hearing officer.

Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) Opened October 1

Clery Act Annual Security Reports are available

The Campus Crime Awareness and Campus Security Act of 1990 (known as the "Clery Act" ) and the Campus Fire Safety Right-to-Know Act require that colleges and universities provide timely warnings of crimes that represent a threat to the campus community, to publish an annual security report and an annual fire safety report, distribute the reports to all students and employees, and inform prospective students and employees about the reports.

Did You Know that First National Bank ÐßÐßÊÓÆµand UA Have a Shared Vision for Empowering Alaska?

The First National Bank ÐßÐßÊÓÆµFinance Lab is scheduled to open in fall 2023. The lab, housed at UAA, will support business education and collaborative learning opportunities for students attending all three of Alaska's public universities.
